The Psychomilf Energy Report: August 2026
August 10, 2026. Words by Olivia Rall.
The universe is being dramatic again. There are months when the universe whispers, and months when she apparently needs to make a scene. And if that’s not relatable, then you might be in the wrong place.
On August 12, a total solar eclipse will sweep across parts of the Northern Hemisphere, while that same night the Perseid meteor shower reaches its peak beneath a New Moon. The result is a particularly dark sky, and if the weather cooperates — an excellent night for watching shooting stars (and making a wish or two).
We believe it’s worth paying attention when the universe gives you a reason to look up. It’s a moment to feel grounded, notice what’s shifting, and check-in with yourself. Sometimes your intuition knows a change is coming before you do.
The energy: something is shifting
August sits in an interesting place, summer is still very much alive, but somewhere in the distance you can feel the next season approaching. Your routines are subtly beginning to shift. The calendar is filling up. No one is ready for September.
While summer might be slowly winding down, it’s a perfect moment to reflect: what parts of this season do you want to bring with you into the rest of the year? Maybe it’s your ability to be more spontaneous, stay up past your self-imposed bedtime, or an afternoon where you “forget” to respond to all of your emails.
THE COSMIC MOMENT: LOOK UP
A solar eclipse is, quite literally, an interruption of the ordinary. The Moon moves between the Earth and the Sun, briefly changing the way we experience the sky. On August 12, totality will be visible along a path crossing Greenland, Iceland, northern Russia, the Atlantic, Spain, and a small part of Portugal, while a partial eclipse will be visible across much of Europe and other parts of the Northern Hemisphere.
That feels like a pretty good metaphor for a reset. No dramatic reinvention or new routines needed.
Here’s what we’re asking ourselves this week…
Am I still moving toward the life I actually want?
What have I been ignoring because I've been too busy?
What keeps calling my attention back?
And perhaps most importantly: What do I already know?
THE SIGN: PAY ATTENTION
The Perseid meteor shower peaks overnight August 12–13, and this year the timing is especially favorable because the peak coincides with a New Moon. Without bright moonlight washing out the sky, conditions should be particularly good for seeing meteors.
So here's your assignment: Go outside (no phones allowed!). Look up. Stay long enough to see something. Make a wish and remember it for later so you can write it down in your manifestation journal.
YOUR AUGUST PERMISSION SLIP
This month (and honestly, every month), you’re allowed to:
Change your mind. You are allowed to discover that something you wanted six months ago isn't what you want now.
Be interested in something you can't explain. Not everything needs a five-year plan, indulge your interests freely and without judgement.
Follow the detour. Some of the best stories begin with, "This wasn't what we originally planned."
Stay out a little later. You are the one who decides your bedtime, although it can sometimes feel like your obligations for the next day are choosing it for you.
Take yourself seriously, without taking yourself too seriously. Both can be true at the same time!
THE RITUAL: MAKE ROOM FOR THE UNKNOWN
The biggest “mistake” when it comes to being present and manifesting what you want, is believing that you need specific tools to do so. Your altar can be a simple space like where you get ready in the morning, a pen and scrap of paper or the notebook you wrote in once and abandoned are more than enough to get started.
Tonight, or sometime this month, give yourself 20 quiet minutes. Light a candle or burn some incense, go to a favorite place (the front porch, your best friend’s bed, your car with music playing). Write down three things you're ready to leave behind, and then write down three things you want more of. Don’t overthink it!
a wink to your wild
The most authentic and fearless version of you is already here, lean into it and look up. Pay attention to what pulls at you. Follow what feels alive. Leave a little room for the unexpected.
And when you’re not sure what comes next, remember:
I trust myself to follow what feels true.
I don’t need to have it all figured out.
I am allowed to change and explore.
See you next month!
